Bethany LeJeune is an artist whose work consists of mixed media sculptures, installations, and video. She received her BFA at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2019 and her MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts in the summer of 2022. Her work responds to assumptions that surround femininity and to the lack of care throughout society that has been made more obvious in a return to the hurried pace of life after COVID quarantine periods. At the root of LeJeune’s practice is a desire to create and foster communities of care in Southwest Louisiana, specifically around a French culture as it relates to her heritage and ecofeminism.
